remote 5" gauge points

Hi Steve,
I would not consider interfering with a proven working and more or less sealed unit such as a wiper motor assembly. I would have thought of getting hold of plastic gears say modular 1 (Radio spares ?) to give a 2: 1 ratio.

This way the wiper motor stays as it is fully enclosed and turns once to open the point and again to close it. If status is required then I would use a microswitch as independent of the drive assembly and tells the position of the points even if the drive unit has failed.
